Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episode Opening Quotes

Being unemployed gives one free time to do anything. Naturally, I’m re-watching a mediocre Star Wars show on Netflix. Each episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens with the John Williams’ Star Wars Theme and a short quote that serves as the episode’s motif (pictured).

Especially if you have plot armor. An example of an opening quote from the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The show isn’t terrible; after Season 1 the episodes become pretty palatable and there’s some decent humor and drama interspersed throughout. Not required viewing for Star Wars fans but certainly an easy way to burn a weekend or four. Since I’m devoid of other commitments presently I figured that if I’m watching the series again anyways, I may as well provide a service while doing so. The full list of opening quotes doesn’t appear to be available online elsewhere so this can be my contribution to the galactic knowledge base.

  1. Thanks for the article, really appreciate it.
Hope you are doing well and good in your professional life. 🙂

  2. OMG, Daisy Ridley am I right? I saw her last night on the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon. She did this rediculously awesome Star Wars rap! It was off the chain!! I can’t wait for the next movie!

  3. thanks for compiling! was gonna start my own compilation – watching the series again after many years – glad to see this here 🙂

i respectfully disagree with your premise of this not being required viewing for star wars fans 🙂 i personally think this series adds a lot to the universe, for example, back stories of other jedi; other planets/species; jedi philosophy; etc. – and also provides some more insight into motivations/reasons behind anakin’s turn to the dark side…i totally think of it as required viewing for star wars fans … 🙂 but thats probably just me lol 🙂

    thanks again for this post!

May the force be with you

  4. I was reading through some of the early Rise Of Skywalker reviews. The reviews kind of looks as mixed as The Last Jedi was. As long as Daisy Ridley is in it, I’m there haha! Starwars for life!

  5. You don’t know what you’re talking about dude, the show is great and the writing in it is great. The show does a great job at expanding on The Clone Wars era, furthering character development that wasn’t present in the prequels (especially for Anakin), and the villains in it are great, like the Darth Maul and Deathwatch arc. All these opening messages and the fact that you had the desire to do this, just prove that. (That said I am grateful for this list, so thank you for that.)

  6. With the quarantine, I’ve finally had time to watch this and was wondering if someone had compiled these quotes. Thank you!

  7. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Like a few others I’m watching this during the COVID19 days with me children. At the end, I’m going to put together kind of a little memorial/souvenir certificate kind of thing. This will be a perfect way to make it more meaningful. Cheers!

  8. This is awesome thank you. What I have been wanting to do is to compile the announcer intros from each episode. The scripts are hard to find and transcribing each one is a big undertaking.

  9. Exactly what I was looking for when watching the Clone Wars Show!
Thank you soooo much for your efforts and best regards from Germany!

  10. Thanks! Didn’t wanna have to go back to season 1: episode 1 to rewatch each intro. Don’t get me wrong, I’d’ve done it; just didn’t want to. 🤪

  11. Funny that you ask where we’re all coming from. Perhaps like me, they’re searching for “star wars clone wars opening quotes.” I’m a professional speaker and writer. Every time I watched one of the episodes I thought, that would be great material in one of my programs or great material for a blog, article or video. Thank you for compiling the list! I’m almost to the end of the series.

  12. Thank you for doing this! I’ve be slowing compiling this and never go a complete list. Now I can use these as my Star Wars quote of the day for my class.

  13. Started watching the series a week ago, can’t stop watching since then. Thanks for this! Visiting this site from Manila, Philippines

  14. Thank you for this. I entered “moral sayings at beginning of clone war episodes” and u were the first hit.

Kind of confused with your statement that the show is mediocre and unnecessary viewing for SW fans. I would consider it mandatory. I think maybe, simply because you took the time to compilate this material, that you might be understating how you really feel about it. All good. Glad you did this.

  15. This is great! Anyone know if there is a list of the sources of these quotes? Did the Star Wars writers make them up or are they from prominent people?

  16. These quotes alone shows how great the philosophy of the series was, and look at those atrocities they made and the insolence of naming them 7-8-9th of the Star Wars movies, those garbages of political correctness(this is also a misleading term, as those views are so far from “correct” ) and nonsensical flashy effects, terrible pacing and sparcely thinked senario, which as well be written by a 8 years old and infact, would be better.

No need to add Daisy… that acting is more like another type of plant that has more cellulose inside and a bark outside.

Anyway, thanks for the work man, I was using them in my Star Wars d20 game and this will be a perfect reference for me.

  17. And this page is still relevant in 2021 and I’m sure well into the future! Thank you for compiling!! I, like Ange81 will be using this information in my teaching curriculum.

  18. Yes, the original characters in the series can provide applicable lessons and morals, but the quotes from the opening of each episode hit viewers on a more philosophical level. Some are a bit on the nose, and others are a bit cliche, but many just say it all.
